Vernal Equinox

By March 20, 2017 No Comments

Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away;
for now the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth its figs,
and the vines are in blossom;
they give forth fragrance.
Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away.

Song of Solomon 2:10-13

Spring began earlier today in the northern hemisphere. You may or may not be one who (in Paul’s words) observes “special days, and months, and seasons, and years ” But almost all of us are ready for spring’s arrival–warmer days, longer days, the greening of the earth, birds returning, hibernators awakening. Love is in the air.

Increasingly it seems that seasons are less about astronomical measurements and more about chapters, stages, or eras in our lives. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

May today be the beginning of a season of encouragement and generosity for you.

Day-in and day-out, The Twelve appears. Season after season, Perspectives continues.

Today, as spring begins, we ask you for a gift of support for The Twelve and Perspectives. It need not be huge, only generous and meaningful. It will be an expression of your gratitude and will bring us support–both moral and financial. Thank you very much.
